Ana Neira

My name is Ana Neira

My enthusiasm for different cultures, the world and communication has led me to study Tourism, become a Hotel Management Technician and teach Spanish as a foreign language.

I was born in Pontevedra, a small and beautiful city in the north of Spain. However, my curiosity and desire to learn led me to live in different cities in Spain and several countries. That’s why I know how exciting, but also how difficult it can be to step out of your comfort zone and learn a new language.

My main motivation is to help you improve your Spanish so that you can travel with confidence and/or advance your career in the tourism sector by mastering this language.

What is Bolboreta Spanish School?

Bolboreta Spanish School is my business and my passion. It is my way of sharing my culture and helping others in their process of learning Spanish.

The idea of teaching Spanish came to me when I was living in Switzerland and learning German. I enjoyed the lessons with my teacher so much, analysing the language and seeing how my opportunities abroad increased as my German improved, that I became extremely curious about language teaching. As a result, I trained to teach Spanish as a foreign language at centres such as the Instituto Cervantes and International House.

At the time, I was working in the tourism sector and had various jobs: from organising guided tours in the Swiss Alps for tourists from all over the world to working in the spa of one of the most luxurious spa hotels in Switzerland.

If you are reading this, you probably know how beautiful the tourism industry is, but also how demanding it is and how important language skills are to work in it. That’s why I’m here, to help you improve your Spanish so that you can get ahead in your career in the world of tourism or, if you’re a traveller, to enjoy travelling in Spain or Latin America with confidence and independence.

My mission is to help travellers master the Spanish language and tourism professionals who receive tourists from Spain or Latin America to improve their Spanish so that they can communicate perfectly with their clients and have access to the jobs of their choice without the language barrier being a problem.

Why Bolboreta?

Because Bolboreta is my favourite word in Galician, my second mother tongue. It means “butterfly”.

Because I identify with and love butterflies. Especially the monarch butterfly, whose perseverance is reflected in the thousands of kilometres it travels to reach its destination. Don’t you think that learning a language requires perseverance?

Because butterflies are a symbol of constant transformation, from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to butterfly, just like a person learning a language!

Learning a language is a metamorphosis.

Because butterflies are free, they go where they want. That’s how I want you to feel after improving your Spanish with me.

I want you to feel butterflies in your stomach when you think about how far you can go when you learn Spanish and that you will be rewarded for your efforts, just like the Monarch Butterfly.

  • I don’t like cooking, but I like cleaning, tidying and eating.
  • I sing every day because it makes me feel good. I don’t know if I’m good at it or not, but I sing.
