Ana Neira

My name is Ana Neira

My enthusiasm for different cultures, the world and communication led me do a Tourism degree, a Hotel Management technician and a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language.

I was born in Pontevedra, a small and beautiful city in the north of Spain, but my curiosity and desire to know made me live in different cities in Spain and in several countries. That’s why I know how exciting but also difficult it is to get out of your comfort zone and learn a new language.

My main motivation is to help you improve your Spanish so that you can gain confidence in your travels and/or advance in your career in the tourism sector by mastering this language.

What is Bolboreta Spanish School?

Bolboreta Spanish School is my company and my passion. Through it I share my culture and help other people to evolve in their process of learning Spanish.

The idea of teaching Spanish came to me when I was living in Switzerland and learning German. I enjoyed the classes with my teacher so much, analysing the language and seeing how my opportunities abroad were expanding as my German improved, that I became extremely curious about language teaching. For this reason, I trained as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language at centers such as Instituto Cervantes and International House.

At that time I was working in the tourism sector and had various jobs, ranging: from organizing guided tours in the Swiss Alps for tourists from all over the world, to working in the spa of one of the most luxurious spa hotels in Switzerland.

If you are reading this, you probably know how beautiful the tourism industry is, but also how demanding it is and how important language skills are to work in it. That’s why I’m here, to help you improve your Spanish and thus progress in your career in the world of tourism.

My mission is to help travellers to master the Spanish language and tourism professionals who receive tourists from Spain or Latin America to improve their Spanish so that they can communicate perfectly with their clients.
clients and access the jobs they want without the language barrier being a problem.

Why Bolboreta?

Because Bolboreta is my favourite word in Galician, my second mother tongue. It means “butterfly”.

Because I identify with butterflies and I love them, especially the monarch butterfly, whose perseverance is reflected in the thousands of kilometres they travel to reach their destination.
Don’t you agree that learning a language requires perseverance?

Because butterflies represent a symbol of constant transformation, from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to butterfly, just like a person learning a language!

To learn a language is to undergo a metamorphosis.

Because butterflies are free and go where they want, that’s how I want you to feel after improving your Spanish with me.

I want you to feel butterflies in your stomach when you think about how far you can go if you learn Spanish and that you will be rewarded for your efforts, just like the monarch butterfly.
